System tray icon for On Screen Touch Keyboard does nothing when tapped

If I go into the start menu and open the On Screen Keyboard it works fine but the button in the system tray refuses to work.

I have tried multiple user profiles, downloaded all windows updates, restarted computer, ran a SFC /Scannow, checked event viewer logs.

I can't find any reason why the system tray icon wouldn't work :(

Any ideas?

Also I did check and the service is running and set to run automatically at start up.

Thanks,

Joshua

That points out that Osk in SysTray is corrupted.

Someone else can help you fix it.

    Please try this:

Open Run app (press Win + R keys) and type tabtip, and hit Enter. This opens the Osk in SysTray.

If it didn't open, please feel free to reply back to us.

Ok I did that and nothing happened.

I checked task manager and tabtip.exe was running.  I ended the task and then ran tabtip again from Run command.

Once again it shows it's opened in Task Manager but nothing appears on the screen.

Since SFC command didn’t work, I would suggest you to try performing a repair installation. This will repair all the corrupted files and services on the system. You can refer the article How to perform an In-place Upgrade with Windows 10 Step-by-Step Guide by Paulsey…

Let us know how it goes, if the issue persists, we will certainly assist you further.

This computer was just imaged with MDT within last two weeks so it's a fresh computer.

It looks like your guide is to upgrade using an ISO file to a newer version of Windows.  The latest version of Windows is not supported for our Encryption and Virus Scanner yet.
