Help reading BSOD crash file - Radeon RX580 Gaming Issue

Anonymous
2021-01-03T13:52:51+00:00

Hi,

I am getting BSOD when using RX580. clean install of windows, latest AMD drivers as of Jan 3rd 2021.

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz, 4001 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)

 Gigabyte BaseBoard Product Z97-D3H-CF

BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. F9, 9/18/2015

Windows 10 pro, 16GB Corsair Ram

It happens mostly when gaming, but sometimes on start up.

I have installed all Gigabyte apps, updated latest drivers. Seems the bios is the correct one. I have done memory tests, cpu tests all came back good.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Rob

That's great, that graphics card driver was not listed in the dump files, and hopefully that will resolve your crashes

With regards to testing your RAM, you should download the widely available free utility MemTest86, then run a full 4 pass scan with that to test your RAM for physical errors . . .

yes I think i did use the windows one, is there a different one I can use.

i just reinstalled the RX580 driver after a DDU and it seems more stable, no crashes in 30 minutes. but keen to explore the RAM more

    Hi Rob

All settings in your BIOS do seem to be correct, your minidump files do indicate RAM corruption, when you tested your RAM, did you sue the built-in Windows 10 Memory Diagnostics?

    Hi Rob

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

From your printout, it seems to be your Intel processor listed as the cause of the system crashes, are you overclocking your Processor, or do you have an XMP profile set on your RAM in BIOS?

Please upload any minidump files you have, I will check those to see if they provide any insight into a potential cause of the system crashes . . .

    Open Windows File Explorer

    Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy any minidump files onto your Desktop, then zip those up

Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox . . . etc.), then choose to share those and get a share link

Then post the link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you . . .
