Windows 10 won't run my HP Laserjet 3030 printer!  And when I tried to resolve the issue it ruined my Canon 2522 printer operation as well!  Now I have two printers that won't operate at all with Windows 10!   They both ran with windows 7!

Thanks for your note, it's the closest I've seen to a fix for my identical problem.  But I can't get it to work.

Can you give more details on your Step 3, "install the "HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 (64-bit)." ?   When I run the install, it gives me three choices for Installation Mode -- Traditional, Dynamic, and USB Plug-n-Play.  None of them seem to be able to keep that darn "PNP SCAN NULL" driver from re-appearing, and the scanner still doesn't work.

What build of Windows 10 are you on?

Right click Start, Run and type winver for the

    build #.

Are these printers compatible with Windows 10?

Check the manufacturers website to find out.

I have had the same hp3030 since 2006 and love it dearly, so, I fought with this same issue for a week before figuring it out.  Here is what worked for me:

    1)  Uninstall the hp3030 printer from device manager entirely.  Also, check under system devices for an HP PNP SCAN NULL driver and uninstall that as well if you see it.

    2)  Install the DOT4 communication driver FIRST (Dot4x64.msi).  It can be found on the driver download page for the hp3030.

    3)  Then, install the "HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 (64-bit)."

    4)  Use "Scan for hardware changes" from Device Manager and it should install the correct drivers.

Here is how it appears now that it's working properly:
