My mic only picks up when I put it right next to my mouth and talk right into it. Is there any way you have a fix for this? I have downloaded the Realtek audio drivers.

Have you pushed the mic volume up in Control Panel > Sound mic settings ?

(or Settings > System > Sound > Sound Control Panel)

i.e. - R\click on the Speakers or Headset Playback option, then click on Properties. Then click on the Levels tab in the next Window.

Many (most ?) uni-directional mics are like this, and it's intentional.

In addition to picking up most of the sound from straight in front of the mic, having to 'close' mic helps

keep background noise from getting into the mix.

You may have noticed how vocalist in live acts get up close and personal with the mic. This is why.

    Hi,

I'm Benedict, an Independent Advisor. I'm here to help you.

Kindly try running the Recording Audio Troubleshooter in Settings>Update & Security>Troubleshoot, or to locate this:

    1. Open Start Menu.
    2. Type and search for "Troubleshoot settings". Open it.
    3. In the right pane, if you can't see the said troubleshooter or no recommended troubleshooter is listed, click on Additional troubleshooters.
    4. Now, look for the said troubleshooter and click it.
    5. Click on "Run the troubleshooter"
    6. Choose your microphone device and click Next.

If that doesn't help, kindly try increasing both the Microphone array and boost of your microphone device properties or to do this:

    1. Right-click the speaker icon in the right side of your taskbar and select Sounds.
    2. Click Recording tab.
    3. Right-click on your microphone device and select Properties.
    4. Click Levels tab and you will find the Microphone array and boost adjustment.

Please let me know if that helps.

    Regards,

    Benedict P.

I have already set the max volume to 100. Whenever I plug my mic into my laptop it sounds just fine.
