Twitter wont play videos on my computer

Since yesterday whenever I try to view a video or a gif on twitter it just loads and says media can't be played I have come to the conclusion that it isn't a browser issue because I have tried on 3 separate browsers and the windows app to no avail. I have updated my PC and restarted it twice and it still doesn't work which leads me to believe that its an issue with windows. If anybody has a solution please tell me.

I have already tried

  • Updating video drivers
  • clearing my cache
  • restarting PC
  • Updating PC
  • Using incognito mode
  • using other browsers
  • disabling firewall
  • running twitter app as administrator

401 is an authentication error. This may mean a problem with Twitter itself.

Can you try to change DNS and check? Use 1.1.1.1 and 1.1.2.2. Restart your PC after changing DNS.

I see, thanks. To isolate a DNS issue, can you try switching to a different network temporarily and check?

Secondly, when the media fails to load, press F12 to open Dev tools. Does the console tab report any errors?

    Hi Debbie,

Do you use any add-on especially any adblocker?
