No, sfc /scannow unfortunately did not find anything wrong
Can't change brightness windows 7
My Dell Latitude D630, for some reason, doesn't have a slider to change the brightness in the control panel. I can do it with the function keys, so I don't know what's wrong. What could be wrong?

2021-02-20T14:10:43+00:00 There is nothing wrong with the screen, I can change the brightness using the function keys, just not in Windows, just wondering why you cannot change brightness through Windows as all my other laptops can. If it was an external monitor, than I wouldn't even care as Windows might not be able to change your monitor screen as there is already a built-in brightness option in the monitor, but on a laptop, Windows should be able to change the brightness.

2021-02-19T17:23:30+00:00 Could also be a System file issue if control panel doesn't have the slider for brightness.
To scan your PC for missing system files, go to Start, type CMD right click and click Run as Administrator.
Once in CMD type sfc /scannow
This will scan the system for missing files and try to repair them.
If the sfc utility cant repair or find missing files, and if the slider is so important, you can re-install Windows 7.
I would back up my files, then re-install.
Send back the results of the sfc command either in text, or in a screenshot
Have a great Friday,

2021-02-19T17:04:17+00:00 Not sure, I found this laptop in a farm as refurbished, it came with Windows Vista but refurbished as Windows 7, so I put a hard drive in it and Installed Windows 7 and entered the product key.
