RCA Cambio Windows 10 update nightmare!

I have an RCA Cambio 10.1, when I updated windows 8.1 to 10 -- due to storage issues -- it removed the original 8.1. Now during the update, Windows deleted my Network Adapter. In trying to reset my Cambio, something happened and now it is in a vicious Install Windows error circle. It shows the error and says to restart and goes right back to the same error message. Is there any way to fix this thing or is it a boat anchor at this point? This is the second computer in my lifetime that Windows has done this to me. Updated to never be able to use the thing again due to network issues ie deleted drivers. I know enough to be dangerous (as we can tell) so what can I do? Is there any way to reinstall windows from a thumb drive? Should I save my sanity and just buy another tablet and possibly experience the same issue? Help me! Please!

Hello JeannetteBarber1, welcome to the Microsoft community, my name is Bruno Leonel, an independent consultant and I would be happy to help you.

I understand that you are having problems starting Windows on your RCA Cambio 10.1 and we are sorry for that. Below is a step by step guide to resetting your device to the default.

Reset an RCA tablet running Windows 10

If your RCA tablet runs Windows 10, reset an RCA tablet and it will also work as the ultimate troubleshooting solution.

Step 1. Turn off your tablet completely, then turn it on again. Hold down the "FN / function" button on the keyboard during startup while pressing the F9 button repeatedly until you see "Please wait".

Step 2. When the boot screen is displayed, select the "Troubleshoot" option and then "Reboot the PC". You will then see two options, remove files or completely wipe the device. The latter will erase all personal files and applications from your tablet and restore it to factory settings.

Step 3. Make a decision and the process begins when you see the RCA logo. The whole process will take 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the amount of data on your tablet.

I hope this helps, feel free to post again. We will be ready to help!

Thank you for responding, I tried resetting yesterday to save my files,  during the process, an error message popped up stating "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation."

I went through the steps you just gave me, I reset the computer completely to delete all files and reset to factory settings. The same thing happened. I got the same error message. When I hit "OK" and repeat the process, I keep getting the same results.

Is there any way to get a copy of Windows 10 on a thumb drive or some other way to reinstall Windows on this tablet or is it just a boat anchor at this time?
