I cannot find or change my SETA Mode from RAID to AHCI

Hi there,

So recently I've bought an SSD and I have been trying to install Windows 10 on it but I keep getting this issue:

I have watched a few youtube videos on this error and I came to the conclusion that I need to change my SETA Mode from whatever I have it on right now to AHCI.

My motherboard manufacturer is ASUS.

The problem is that I cannot find the setting to change my SETA mode in the BIOS.

This is where the setting should be located:

I updated my BIOS to its recent version but it's still not there.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Okay, change OS Type from Other OS to Windows UEFI Mode, save that and restart . . .

    Hi Matei

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

You seem to have a modern UEFI BIOS, most likely, SATA Mode is already set to AHCI

To convert your Drive to GPT:

At the very start of the Installation Process, press Shift + F10, or Shift + Fn + F10 to open Command Prompt

Run this command and hit Enter:

    diskpart

Run this command and hit Enter:

    list disk

(Make note of the disk number you want to convert and enter it into the next command - replace disknumber)

Run this command and hit Enter:

    select disk disknumber

Run this command and hit Enter:

    clean

Run this command and hit Enter:

    convert gpt

Then close Command Prompt and restart the installation . . .

    Hey, thanks for your reply.

This helped me get to the stage where I could start the instalation but I am now stuck in a reboot loop. At the end of the setup windows needs to reboot and it gets me back to the start of the instalation. I have windows on an USB and I tried removing it at the end but it just gets me to the BIOS and I need to insert it again.

    My boot opțions are

    1. USB
    2. SSD

I do not have my HDD conected.

    Any fix for this?

    Hi Matei

Just checking in, did those commands allow you to install Windows 10?

If not, please provide a photo of each tab available in BIOS, so I can see what options you have available to you . . .
