Minimum of 8GB Disk OR USB

You don`t need a usb drive. It is only required for a clean install.

Also the procedure is called repair upgrade and not just upgrade..

After 3 days, trying a myriad of things, and pulling half my hair out, I was finally successful!!!

First, I made sure my BIOS was updated.

Next, I cleaned out my registry, removing old references to updates, etc.

I downloaded an install file of Win10 20H2 and put it on a USB key. Then unplugged the Ethernet cable, and turned off wifi.

Restarted the PC, opened the USB and clicked on setup. It FINALLY installed. I think the downloading of updates while installing messed it up. Once it was installed, I restarted, plugged the ethernet cable in, let it do what it needed to to, and installed the rest of the updates from settings.

    I HOPE this helps someone.

The Media Creation Tool will help you update to the latest version, if you use the "upgrade function" I believe.
