Something on my pc is blocking ads, but I don't know what it is. It isn't my browser because that doesn't have a ad blocker on it,

Do you have any ideas on what may be blocking ads on my browser, (I.e windows security)

i have checked windows security and I don't think anything is blocking the ads.

this is annoying because websites will so a popup saying i am using an adblocker and it gets really annoying.

    Hello Greg,

Unfortunately, this did not solve my problem. Do you have any other ideas of why it might be blocking ads, apart from a factory reset but i don't really want to do that, to find out it didn't work anyway.

If it is windows security blocking ads, do you know where i could change that?

Thank you for your help so far.

Hi Adam. I'm Greg, awarded MVP for eleven years, Volunteer Moderator, and Independent Advisor here to help you until this is resolved.

What is the browser? Have you tried another to compare?

Try resetting the browser to see if that fixes it:

https://www.howtogeek.com/171924/how-to-reset-y.... For Edge reset in Edge Settings > Reset Settings.

If not uninstall the browser from Settings > Apps > Apps & Features, restart and reinstall from a fresh download. For Edge instead re-register the browser from Option 2 here: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3175-apps-re.... Back up your Favorites first by signing into browser and additionally for Edge here: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/143983-how-...

If nothing else helps this may be due to poorly written software on the sender's end. If you want to report this to Edge Developers you can choose the Edge Hub (three dots to right of URL address bar) then Help & Feedback, then Feedback form to fill out. They will not even see it here, as this is a tech forums where mostly volunteers try to help others with their problems.

I hope this helps. Based on what you report back I can answer any questions and may have other steps to perform.

Did you try everything in my last post? This is an interactive process. I give steps to perform, you do each one and then report back results until something works, so I know what to suggest next. If you need help performing any step, just ask back. But please do not skip any steps.

Adam, I still don't know what browser this is. Did you try resetting and reinstalling it?

Check what Extensions the browser has installed:
