Ah, well, that's frustrating! Thanks to both of you in any case. Looks like I'll have to do it the hard way.

This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I have a single admin account on my laptop. I want to create an identical account with no admin access which has exactly the same desktop, application data and access to apps. So, for example, I'd like to be able to login to the new account, open up Firefox and all my passwords, browser history, etc are already stored there.
Once this is set up, it doesn't need to sync - I'd just like a perfect copy initially.
I am comfortable editing registry entries and copying appdata around.
Any ideas?

When I select my profile, “copy to” is greyed out for all profiles except the default profile. I am logged out of those profiles.
Thanks for the response.
You mention removing a third account in step 3, but you don't mention creating one. At what stage do I create that?
If the process is done as I wish, it should also include the data for any broswers and apps. If that's the case, why would I need to export and re-import that data - I thought it was included in app data?
Sorry for my lack of understanding.
Simon
Hello Simon, welcome to the Microsoft community, my name is Bruno Leonel, an independent consultant and I would be happy to help you.
I understand that you want a profile identical to yours as an administrator. To perform the procedure you will have to move all your files from the other account to that new account by performing the following procedure (accessing the administrator account):
TIP: Hidden files and folders may not come in the procedure above. In this case, my suggestion is that, in the user profile, the one who will copy the files, enable the option to show hidden files and folders.
To import your bookmarks into Firefox
Click on the Library on the toolbar (if it is not there, click on the menu and then Library). Click on Favorites and then on the Show all favorites bar at the end.
On the toolbar of the Library window, click "Import and backup" and choose "Export bookmarks to HTML ..." from the drop-down menu.
In the Export bookmark file window, choose a location to save the file, by default named bookmarks.html. The work area is a good place, but you can save wherever you want.
Click the Save button.
Close the Library window.
To import in the other profile, have the file, perform the same procedure above until the step in clicking "Import and Backup" and this time select the option "Import HTML bookmarks"
I hope this helps, If the error still occurs, feel free to post again. We will be ready to help!
Thanks for the update. I'm sorry it didn't work. I also ran out of ideas on the subject. But don't worry, this is a community of experts. I will release this question so that another expert can pick up and provide you with new ideas.
