Fada not working on A key only

Hi, 

When I try to type A fada (like é,ó,ú,í) it wont produce any A at all, i have tried using both ctrl and alt and altgr and neither work. this is a recent problem an it used to work fine until last week. I am operating windows 10 on a lenovo laptop less than a year old. I have also got anois irish grammer and spellchecker installed.

    Hi Christine

    Are the fada's working on the other vowel keys on your keyboard and does the fada work on the lowercase a or not?

    If so, open the Settings App

    Go to Update & Security - Troubleshoot

    Run the Keyboard troubleshooter

    If that does not resolve this for you

    Open Device Manager

    Expand the Keyboards section

    Right click your keyboard and choose 'Uninstall'

    Then restart your PC

    Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

    Go to Time and Language - Language

    On that page, is the installed keyboard Irish English or UK English

    On the left, click Region, is your Region set to Ireland?

    Hi Christine

    Try changing your keyboard language to English (UK) I have my laptop set to that and I can type fada's with the Alt-GR key . . .

    Hi Dave,

    Thanks for your help, the region is already set to ireland and the preferred language is english(ireland).
