I original set up windows under an account/email that has since be closed. I want to transfer all my files currently on the old user account to my new user account but can't seem to figure this out. Is there a way I can move my files, apps, and setting that are on the old user account to the new one?

    Hi,

    Follow these steps:

    1. Open File Explorer
    2. Open the Local Disk C: Drive
    3. Click Users
    4. Select the user you want to give files to
    5. Open the desktop folder (or any you want)
    6. Drag and drop files into that folder.

Once you're done, switch accounts and check if the data is there, before deleting the data. (I would recommend having a data backup anyway)

    Cheers!

This worked and was so much easier then the things I've found online saying what to do. Thank you so much!

    Hi Starnes96

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

If you have set up a new user profile on your PC associated to a different Microsoft Account, you can move your personal files to the new account, you cannot move Apps or games that were downloaded form the Microsoft Store, they are tied to the original Microsoft Account, and your Settings can also not be transferred

To move the files across, open File Explorer, then navigate to C:\Users

In there you will find the folder for the old account and you can move the files form there into you new account . . .
