Fast boot option

How do I turn on quick boot in my bios? I tried the following already and the option to enable fast boot never appeared. I pressed F2 during startup, the bois opened then I went to the advanced menu then tried to get into boot and there was no option to click on boot and bring on more options. Then it said to click on boot configuration tab and again there was  no option to enable fast boot. I got these directions on line. I have a Dell inspiron 2350 and I believe it has the  most updated version of the bios on it. The version it gives when my bios is open is 2.15.1236. I just want to enable the fast quick boot option in my bios.   Thanks

The reason I asked that question was because it took my computer 20 seconds to get from my Dell logo screen to my startup lock screen.  I hope you don't mind l have two questions on no Gui boot. I checked that option and my computer startup time went down to 3 seconds very HAPPY! My first question is when I go into Msconfig run option now that no Gui boot is selected what should I put my timeout on it was originally set at 30 seconds  but someone suggested 3 seconds does that sound right

to you? The second question is still dealing  with no Gui boot if you  now go into the advanced tab and there will be the number of processes which originally had 1 selected again someone said to check the maximum number of processes which on mine is 4 does that sound right to you? Because of your experience  I trust your opinion more. Once you make these choices then you can make them permanent . I have made the no Gui permanent,  but I have just changed the timeout to 3 and the number of processes to 4. I would like to make these 2 choices permanent but I want your input so I don't make a mistake. I have made the no Gui boot permanent because I am very happy with my new startup time. Please give your input on the other 2 choices.  Thanks

    Hi MICJMA22

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

Fast Boot is only available in some BIOS Setups, usually, there is only Secure and/or Safe Boot in BIOS

Fast Boot is normally enabled in the old Control Panel and from the support page for your PC, there is no Fast Boot in BIOS, you only have Fast Startup in Control Panel

Open the old Control Panel (click your Start Button, then just type Control and press Enter)

At the top of Control Panel, set View to Icons

    Choose Power Options

On the left, click 'Choose what the power buttons do'

At the top right, click 'Change settings that are currently unavailable'

Under 'Shutdown settings' you will see 'Turn on fast startup'
