USB 3.0 Ports Being Recognized and used as 2.0s

Hi, i have a MSI B450M pro vdh max motherboard with 4 usb 3.0 ports, but none of them (when looked at trough a usb tree checker) work as actual 3.0s, and because of that i cant use my oculus quest in cable mode. as i need this to work for my job as vr developer, this is kinda annoying.

I have tried reinstalling the chipset drivers of both the motherboard and the AMD USB 3.10 eXtensible host controller 1.10 (microsoft) and neither of em fix the problem, i have tried regedits for selective suspend and i tried turning on/off the xhci settings.

any ideas?

Edit: i have also already tried to turn off legacy usb and turn it back on again and unpugging all other usb ports

Looks like you may not be alone here. Not sure if this other thread is exactly the same as your problem but may be worth reading.

    Hi kazekage2002,

Good day! This is Jhakesong an Independent Advisor and I will be happy to assist you with this.

I am sorry to hear about the inconvenience. See if this works for you. Try to avoid inserting the device slowly. Here is a thread that explains it.

Another possible solution is to Disable USB 3.0 Legacy support in your BIOS (If this is an option in your Motherboard's BIOS).

Let me know how it goes. Have a great day!

i have already tried legacy support and the speed at which i plug it in does nothing, i have also tried taking out all of the other usb ports to see if that has any effect and no matter what all the usb ports are still 2.0

    Have you checked with MSI.

It's definitely BDH and not VDH. Is there a bios update from MSI?
