Let me clarify a bit, consider Intel driver for example, they are running test internally and they update their version, because they are too many devices running Intel driver, it is not possible to test them all. In this case they might release a driver and your device has another driver which cause conflict with new version and they didn't test it. However, in case of Acer, they will test it with their own devices and they know their configuration and in case they detect such conflict, they will report it to the Intel but they won't place the latest version and keep compatible one until problem get fixed.
Intel Drivers update
When Widows update, it seems it overlooks the Intel drivers. Even as of now the windows doesn't show any Intel drivers need updating, but when I ran Intel Driver Support Assistant, it showed 3 drivers need updating (Blue Tooth, Audio and Rapid Storage technology), How Windows update missed them? In case it also misses other peripherals, one should know, so that we can go to the OEM web and download the driver.
Of course I am facing problem in downloading it from Intel-DSA : (Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) User Interface and Driver for Intel® 7th/8th Generation Platforms), it just refuses to download, getting stuck at 0%. I wonder why.

There may be cases where the drivers conflict and generate the famous blue screen.
Therefore, I recommend that you always update your pc drivers through the Acer website, and system drivers through Windows Update.
Any doubt I am available.
See you!

2021-01-29T16:18:14+00:00 It's ACER Nitro desktop - these updates were not visible in the windows update (where I had put the auto update on), and even when I individually tried to update (through device manager, driver update button).
I had some problem in blue tooth, after which ACER directed me to the intel DSA, and there I had not one but three out dated drivers, including the memory management (for optane).
I had some difficulty in updating, and then I found the trouble, my antivirus. When I paused it, I could update.
But this was all through Intel, windows never indicated the update availability. I assume there would be some conflict between win and Intel ways on this - since Intel checks the hardware and then recommends driver (so they are hardware directed) whereas the windows might recommend based on the OS needs.
I wonder, if this is so, is there is a possibility - when Win isn't aware of the driver updation, the system may crash due to conflict between OS and kernel? Just wondering, hope it won't. At least in this update it didn't.

2021-01-28T18:03:55+00:00 Drivers from third-party vendors should be offered from them to Microsoft.
In case it is NOT available it means Intel didn't shared them in Windows Update.
You may visit your device's support website and download the latest driver.
You may open start and search for feedback and open Feedback Hub app and report this issue.

2021-01-28T18:02:51+00:00 Hello SB1962, welcome to the Microsoft community, my name is Luiz Cruz, an independent consultant and I would be happy to help you.
What exactly is the computer model and manufacturer?
There are some programs that scan for drivers that need updating.
We cannot indicate any because we do not know the effectiveness of each one.
On the Intel website in addition to the Intel Driver Support Assistant you can find the drivers separately and install them, here> https://downloadcenter.intel.com/
Make sure your system is fully up to date:
Check for new updates on Windows Update:
1: Open the Windows 10 "Start" menu and select the "Settings" item.
2: then select the "Update and Security" option.
3: in the "Windows Update" section, click "Check for updates".
4: If there are no updates, the message "You are up to date" will be displayed.
5: if there is any pending system update, the message "Features update for Windows 10 ..." will be displayed, then click on the "Download and install" item to start the system update.
6: wait for the update download to finish and restart the PC, or schedule a restart to be able to finish the procedure.
Any doubt I am available.
See you!
