USB doesn't get Blue Snowball properly

Hello :)

I have a Blue Snowball microphone. I Googled many hours to find out why it is not working.

I found out it may be a problem with my USB drivers.

You see, in Device Manager, in "Audio inputs and outputs", my Blue Snowball doesn't appear. It only appears in "Sound, video and game controllers" with a yellow triangle.

Then the only thing that helps to make Blue Snowball work, is to go to "Universal Serial Bus controller", and uninstall all "USB composite devices". Then I restart my computer and my microphone is working properly. Probably because Windows 10 installs some default drivers. But then when I restart the computer again, Blue Snowball stops working.

So it seems to make my Blue Snowball work, I have to install my USB drivers and restart my computer. And do it every single time. I tried to update USB driver etc. but nothing works except the uninstall/restart.

My question is: is there a way to make it work without uninstalling and restart?

    I'm in the same boat. In fact I wonder if my early version of Blue Snowball microphone is simply obsolete. It works if you shout into it. I installed Blue Sherpa with no luck. In fact Blue Sherpa does not even detect the microphone. I've gone through many iterations of removing drivers, rebooting, etc.. It ends up the same, you gotta shout. Sherpa never sees it.

    Hello Neil

    The issue with not working microphone is back. I started my PC today and it seems my microphone is not working again. Is seems like it worked after I installed Sherpa and restarted PC. But after another restart, the issues are back.

    edit: I have done some more research

    01/01/2021 is a date I uninstalled USB and restarted PC.

    Then there were 2 events Device configured and Device started/not started

    The only difference was in events started/not started. In not started there were 2 more lines

    Problem: 0xA

    Problem Status: 0xC0000120

    The date I installed Sherpa 03/01/2021 and microphone worked is not in events for some reason.

    Some more screenshots if it helps

    Hello Neil, thank you for your response.

    The "Roll Back Driver" button is greyed out and can not be clicked.

    Hi Robert, I'm just following up with you. Did you manage to install the Sherpa software? And did it resolve your issue?

    Please let me know, and if you need any further help, just ask.

    OK, Instead, let's try this:

    =====================

    Right Click your Windows Start Button and then click on Device Manager.

    In Device Manager, Click on ">Sound, video and game controllers" to expand that category.

    Right Click on your Blue Snowball Mic and click on "Update driver"

    Next, click on "Browse my computer for drivers"

    Then click on "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer"

    Make sure "Show compatible hardware is ticked" and can you tell me what drivers appear in the box please?

    =====================
