Hi,

I tried to install the Hindi input tool from the microsoft website bhashaindia. The Indic tool (SDK Version) isn't available on the website and it says -

404 - File or directory not found.

The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

recently I had reinstalled windows and I am in need of that tool for Hindi typing.

link is provided below-

Thank you for the mention of smart Phonetic keyboards - May 2019 update (19H1) for Windows 10, Aditya Roy, I have been using it too since the update. Previously I had it downloaded and installed from the Bhasha India site. With the update, it has become not necessary to download, as its already available with the OS itself.

But the basic question is why at all remove the existing facility of downloading the hindi.exe file from Bhashaindia Indic Input Tools site. As an instructor, I find it easier to suggest to my candidates to download and install from the Microsoft site - Bhashaindia. Many are using previous versions of OS.

Hence, please suggest how/ from where can we download and install the tool. Its not nice to impose an update, don't you agree.

Hence, if possible, do something to reinstate the download tool for ILIT.

    Yours,

    Hariganesh M Nair

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

As part of its efforts to personalize technology and make it accessible for everyone, Microsoft has announced the release of smart Phonetic keyboards for 10 Indian languages in its May 2019 update (19H1) for Windows 10. The updated virtual keyboard learns from the behavior patterns and preferences of the user and accordingly offers individualized word suggestions in Indian languages, enhancing and improving accuracy of text input. Since these keyboards are based on natural pronunciation, users don’t need to separately learn to use them and simply start using them immediately.

The new tools will not only help in making computing inclusive they are also expected to improve typing speed and accuracy in Indian languages by at least 20%. Moreover, they make many regional symbols (like the Indian numerals) easier to input.

Prior to this update, Indic users were required to download Microsoft Indic Language Input Tool (ILIT) from the company’s Indic community website ‘Bhashaindia.com’ or a third-party tool. There are many other utilities from Microsoft (including Indic Input 1, Indic Input 2 and Indic Input 3) for Phonetic text input in Indian languages. The new update which now comes integrated into the operating system nullifies the need to download and install any external tools, known as Input Method Editors (IMEs).

    Hope it helps.

Hey, this answer does not help. The actual question is about the missing file for download from the Microsoft website. Even I am trying to download that keyboard but it throws a 404 error. We need the ILIT input setup/installer, you aren't answering anything about the missing file. Where to get that installer ?
