Hi there, I got a fresh install of Windows 7 but I can't connect to wifi because I don't have the drivers. I'm trying to install Intel's Proset but it always gives me a KERNEL32.dll issue (Entry Point SetDeaultDllDirectories missing error) even tho it is there.

I don't know what to do.... please help!

After that reinstall > Go to your laptop/computer manufacturer's website and find and reinstall the Windows Drivers for your Laptop/computer Model Number for your operating system.

Use the computer you are on to get here to download/save the Network Adaptors/Wi-fi Drivers for it first > copy them to flash drive > transfer and install them on the Laptop.

Then you can use the Laptop/computer to get the rest of the drivers from there.

Yeah my HP drivers aren't working, what works on my laptop are only the Intel ones but they keep not being installed due to that error I mentioned above.

Just for the record, Intel ethernet drivers were installed successfully but I need the wifi one actually.

I do not know what causes that kernel32.dll error. If this was a clean install of Win7, that should not be happening. Only one piece of advice I can think of. It could be that the wireless internal device is/has failed. IF that is the problem, the solution is not complicated or expensive. You can buy a tiny USB device that is a wireless device. They can be found for as little as $30. Easily installed, portable and quite often work better than the OEM internal one. If you do take that step, remember to disable the internal one.

This sounds as if you are attempting to install a defective driver.

What is the serial number of your HP laptop?

What is the file name of the HP driver that isn't working for you?

When you install the HP driver, do you get an error message? If so, what is the complete text?

Where did you get the Intel driver and what is the name of the file you downloaded?

Open Device Manager (click Start, type Device Manager in the Search box, and press Enter).

    • Double-click Network adapters to expand that category.
    • Double-click the entry for your wireless network adapter.
    • Select the "Details" tab
    • Select "Hardware Ids" from the drop-down list
    • Right-click on the first line in the "Values" box and select "Copy"
    • Paste the data into your reply here

If you have a laptop HP supplies that.

Or as you say you have Intel, ask in their forums.
