PCI driver and SM Bus Controller missing update

Hello,

I am trying to figure out why I cannot update the PCI options under device manager. This is a complete new build, with all new parts. I have uninstalled everything and reinstalled everything fresh and this still shows up. Any help would be so much appreciated.

My specs are:

CPU: i9 10850K

GPU: GTX 1080 Founders Edition

Storage: two Samsung 970 M.2 NVMe SSDs (Installed in M.2_2 & M.2_3 slots, both show up as usable)

RAM:  (8 x 2) Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200 mhz

PSU: EVGA 1000w 80 plus gold

OS: Windows 10 home 64bit

There are 3 PCI devices that show it needs update, but when I try to find the update to install it says it cannot find it. This is the same for the SM Bus Controller (it also shows another option called "unknown device"

The first PCI device says:

Code 28

PCI bus 0, device 21, function 1

Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_43E9&SUBSYS_86941043&REV_11\3&11583659&0&A9 requires further installation.

The second PCI device says:

Code 28

PCI bus 0, device 31, function 5

Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_43A4&SUBSYS_86941043&REV_11\3&11583659&0&FD requires further installation.

The third PCI device says:

Code 28

PCI bus 0, device 21, function 0

Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_43E8&SUBSYS_86941043&REV_11\3&11583659&0&A8 requires further installation.

SM Bus Controller says this:

Code 28

PCI bus 0, device 31, function 4

Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_43A3&SUBSYS_86941043&REV_11\3&11583659&0&FC requires further installation.

Unknown Device says this:

Code 28

on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System

Device ACPI\INT34C6\2&daba3ff&1 requires further installation.

Well it looks like someone beat me to the answer.

The ASUS Driver download page for the mobo is weird it doesn't show all the drivers unless you click the See All Downloads then it shows the other needed Drivers.

Messed me up same as the rest of you.

Who ever uses the install CD NO ONE.

Only use the ASUS Chipset Software Installation Utility driver for your mobo not the intel driver it will not work.

    Hello xxFyrus,

    I'm independant advisor,

The problem is related to the lack of driver for your motherboard, can you indicate the brand and model of your motherboard?

By going to the motherboard manufacturer's website, you should find the missing drivers to download and install.

    Best regards

YES. I found out that the chipset driver that is need not only MEI is.

With ASUS there are multiple drivers listed under CHIPSET. They are not on the CD with the motherboard!

    I needed all now listed

The first one seemed to be missing and is not on the CD.

The INTEL driver update utility did not recognise these missing drivers.

The GNA driver installer did not give any response with my Z590 system.

I have the same. A brand new ASUS PRIME Z590-A. (AND MY PC NAME is off the privious board that failed with the LAN chipset)

And yes, using all the drivers that are on their website leaves these not installed:

After long searching I decided to use the CD that came with the motherboard.

I just did asussetup.exe and waited.

To my supprise most missing seem to be solved now.

    Leaves these:

And I can not find any driver that schould or could solve the problem. Not with Windows update, and not with ASUS.

So who has to provide these drivers?

    Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_43A4&SUBSYS_86941043&REV_11\3&11583659&0&FD requires further installation.

    Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_43A3&SUBSYS_86941043&REV_11\3&11583659&0&FC requires further installation.

The system does not go in sleep/standby and screen is not turned of. Energy management doesn't seem to work.
