my memory at idle is about 70%, when i go into task manager and click memory to see whats using so much, nothing is there, when i try to use process hacker nothing is there, i used malwarebytes nothing there, i looked it up and all i can find is people just ending processes, there is nothing enabled at startup. some of my apps wont work because there is too much ram being used, resource monitor says alot of ram is being  used but fails to tell me what is using it.

i deleted extra files no effect. the highest thing using memory is firefox and mc teams which only uses about 25%.

    Disk Cleanup is safe to use. It won't delete personal data, or uninstall programs\apps, and you can clear the tic box next stuff

    you may not want to be cleaned.

    How much RAM do you have total ?  Windows will easily use 3.5+ GB system RAM at idle with the basic background processes

    and a small number of apps\programs enabled in the Startup tab.

    I have 4.2GB 'in use' atm (the term 'in use' should be viewed loosly on Win10. 'Populated' may be more accurate) with only one browser

    and two tabs open.

    I don't have Office 365, but see that MC Teams is part of that software. If you don't need the Teams option you may be able to

    disable it via Windows Services, and if you don't use Office 365 regularly you can disable that in Startup and launch it manually

    when needed.

    Whatever the case, Win10 manages RAM more efficiently than previous versions of Windows, which means it will cache more data

    (populate all that RAM that's just sitting there looking pretty), but if you are not using Office365 at a time that something else requires more RAM,

    Windows will (should) reallocate space for whatever you have running in the foreground.

    If you are a heavy multi-tasker you may want to install more RAM to keep things running smoothly.

    .

    Dear Creep:heavy_check_mark:,in this case I recommend that you do a disk cleaning, cleaning temporary files from the system:

    Access My Computer and go to C:, right click on it and access the properties;

    Click Disk Cleanup;

    Click on Clear system files, wait for loading and select all files for deletion;

    After finishing the process, restart the pc and do the test;

    See you soon!

    Hello Creep:heavy_check_mark:, welcome to the Microsoft community, my name is Luiz Cruz, an independent consultant and I would be happy to help you.

    Initially I recommend that you do a clean boot;

    Make a clean boot:

    Clean boot serves to determine whether a background program is interfering with the system or optimizing system loading.

    1. Press the Windows + R keys, type msconfig and click OK;
    2. In the System Configuration window, click on the services tab;
    3. At the bottom of the screen, check the Hide all Microsoft services box and click Disable all;
    4. Now click on the Programs Startup tab and on Open Task Manager;
    5. When loading the task manager, click on the start tab and disable all non-Microsoft programs (right-click on the program and choose disable), close the Task Manager and click OK on system configuration and restart computer if requested.

    NOTE: This procedure disables all third party services and programs. You can later, if the problem is solved in this way, selectively enable the programs and services that will start with Windows, instead of keeping all disabled. If the problem returns after activating the startup of a specific service or program, the problem is exactly in the startup of this software and it is recommended to remove it.

    Run the Windows repair tools:

    Press the keys Ctrl + Shift + ESC, click on File;

    Click Run new task.

    Check the option Create this task with administrative privileges;

    In the open field type cmd, then click OK.

    Run the following commands:

    sfc /scannow

    dism /online /cleanup-image /CheckHealth

    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    chkdsk /f /r /b

    Confirm with Y and then Enter to schedule a disk scan. Restart the equipment and as soon as you finish, check if you agree.

    Wait for the process to finish and restart the pc;

    Check the behavior;

    I hope I helped, even more!
