SOLVED--Can't install Origin on Windows 10, 0xc000007b error

So, I've spent the past day (and a lot of last night) scouring the internet for a solution to this problem. I got a new, refurbished laptop yesterday afternoon and intended on quickly downloading Origin to play Sims. With my old laptop, that I only retired two days ago, I had no problem running Origin on Windows 10 and playing Sims 4 easily. Unfortunately, yesterday I ran across some problems. First I ran into the msvcp140.dll and vcruntime140.dll issue that many people have posted about, but thankfully was able to resolve that by downloading the necessary files and putting them in the correct folders. Then I ran into the present issue, the 0xc000007b error. I've tried just about everything anyone's suggested:

• Clean Boot
• Redownloading Visual C++
• Downloading the latest .NET Framework (and looking to see if it was enable on my computer, which it was)
• Running sfc/scannow in the command window
• Checking/changing Origin's compatibility settings
• at least one more solution that I'm forgetting because it's been a long 24 hours

If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm open to hearing them. I also read on one of the forums (can't remember if it was here or on EA) that it's possible the new update is blocking Origin somehow? If so, how can I get it to...not? Truly would love to be playing Sims 4.

EDIT: Steam, Discord, and games from the Microsoft store work fine if that's helpful.

EDIT 2: A person from Microsoft support had me reinstall Windows 10 and it's still not working. So, add that to the list of what I've tried.
