just bought a new 10m 2.0 hdmi cable and tried to connect my 4k tv to my computer. in somewhat constant intervals the tv kind of shuts down and then reboots, only down for like 1 sec then up to full power again. if i try to set the tv as my speaker it will sometimes play sound for something like 2 sec then stop. i tried connecting the cable to another screen and nothing wrong there. i also tried setting the tv to 1080p and the problem still remains

    Hi, my name is Talita. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I'll be glad help you today.

    Please see if these tips can help you:

    • see if the cable is in a comfortable position, not being "forced"
    • the resolution of one screen may be different from another so try to match the quality and aspect ratio on the laptop to the limitations and measurements of the TV and the signal can be restored.
    • try going to Control Panel> Hardware and Sound> Sound> Manage audio devices. Check that the HDMI output is enabled and that the volume is high enough.

    Firmware

    If the HDMI cable appears to transmit neither audio nor video to the TV, the problem may be with the firmware - operating instructions programmed directly into the hardware of an electronic device. In that case, simply connect the TV or device in question to the internet and download the latest firmware update.

    If the problem does not resolve, let me know to continue with your question

    I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

    Sincerely

    Talita C.

    Please try to perform a clean boot to see if we have identified any software that is causing this problem. If you have already done this step, let me know

    Clean boot Windows 10:

    1. Press the Windows + R keys, type msconfig and click OK;
    2. In the System Configuration window, click on the services tab;
    3. At the bottom of the screen, check the Hide all Microsoft services box and click Disable all;
    4. Now click on the Programs Startup tab and click on Open Task Manager;
    5. When loading the task manager click on the start tab and disable all non-Microsoft programs (right click on the program and choose disable), close the Task Manager and click OK on system configuration and restart the computer if requested. (mark the programs you have disabled on a paper)

    NOTE: This procedure disables all third-party services and programs. You can later, if the problem is resolved in this way, enable the programs and services that

    will be booted with Windows selectively, instead of keeping all disabled. If the problem returns after activating the startup of a specific service or program, the problem is exactly in the startup of this software and it is recommended

    remove it.

    If the problem persists, please let me know that I will continue with your question to find a solution

    Sincerely

    Talita C

    i did the first tip but the other 3 you mentionen doesnt apply what i described. i put in a bad headline for this. the hdmi cable isn't disconnecting i can see on my main computer screen that it keeps being connected. the problem is that my computer somehow takes over the tv and turns it off and on, it is not a disconnection
