printer driver unavailable

I recently purchased an HP project 9010 all in one series printer about two weeks ago.

I installed it easily everything was working fine, now suddenly it will not print.  It goes from Default error, to drivers unavailable.  I have done every "fix" out there.  I have unistalled and reinstalled., shut everything down, up plug.  you name it I've done it.. still nothing.

I did speak to someone, I think from HP, i'm not even sure.  He went thru a number of things and ended up saying that my Windows 10 Build has expired, but he could fix it for a cost of $150.  I declined.    I didnt even know my windows 10 could expire.  I think the computer is less than 2 years old and it came with Windows 10 on it.

The crazy thing is that My son can print from his MAC and I can print from my IPhone.  This is extremely frustated because I work from home and need to have this working.  Its brand new!

Please advise on how to fix this problem,  It seems like its a driver issue with Windows.

thank you

Good for you NOT taking the paid service option.

Specifically what "every fix out there" did you do?

    .

    • Turn the printer off,
    • In Windows go to "printers and scanners"
    • is the specific printer listed (installed)
    • Is a generic HP driver installed, ie I have "HP Universal PCL 5" for my HP 2400DN LaserPrinter
    • Uninstall the HP printer driver
    • Turn the printer on, it should automatically install a printer driver.

On the right side of the dialog there is an option to "trouble shoot your printer" (the printer needs to be turned on...)

Go to the HP support site for your printer:

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-9010-all-in-one-printer-series/23903057

Install the printer driver from there.
