Hi, I'm Claudeir, an independent expert, it's very important to me that all your questions are answered and that you have a positive experience.

-Are you sure that this amount is daily? if you go back to the status page, before clicking on data usage, is it described as daily or is it described as the last 30 days?

These are probably days that the system uses to make automatic updates, like MicrosoftStore for example, it can do some procedures to try to decrease.

-Go to the Microsoft Store settings, and disable the option to update automatically.

-Right click on the start, settings, update and security, Windows update, advanced options, in update options, disable the three options.

-To prevent automatic updates of Windows update on Wifi network, right click on start, settings, networks and Internet, Wi-Fi, "Advanced Options", activate the option "Set as limited connection".

This will only be valid for this wifi network, if you connect to another network, you need to repeat the process.

(remembering that the recommended thing is to always keep the system updated through Windows update)

Thanks, the data consumption is reduced and couldn't see any sudden spike in data in any particular day for past 20 days. The Microsoft store settings does the trick.

Okay, if you did these procedures, I believe everything will be normal, as you disabled automatic updates from the Microsoft Store, and did other procedures, I await your feedback to see if data consumption has decreased, as these are the procedures to try to decrease this consumption, as you told me that this data spike only happens on some random day, I await your return, until later, good weekend for you.

    Hi Claudeir,

I have included my responses below

Are you sure that this amount is daily?

The usage mentioned there is for two days, I reset data usage daily to check the actual usage. The sudden spike in data consumption happens once or twice in a week.

Go to the Microsoft Store settings, and disable the option to update automatically.

I have done now, will check the consumption here after

    Windows update:

    It is already turned off

    Delivery Optimization:

Download bandwidth is already reduced to 5%

    "Set as limited connection".

Already set for this network, however the System App still consume data

Also I have edited group policy(gpedit.msc) for configure automatic updates to  "2- Notify for Download and auto install". Still no help.

I hope you can help me with the details provided.

    Thank you![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/3d7eef31-6599-45d4-9f49-768d3bd10602?platform=QnA

You can also access the delivery optimization feature to set up a specific data limit:

Windows + Q and search for 'Delivery optimization'
