What is the manufacturer and model of the computer? Do any microphones come to be recognized by the system? Press the Windows + R keys and type: mmsys.cpl and click OK, check if the Microphone tab shows a Microphone. Test with headsets / headphones and verify that the microphone behaves the same. Previously, follow the instructions:
Method 1
Allow access to the microphone
- On the desktop, press the Windows + R keys, type: ms-settings: privacy-microphone and click OK;
- Enable the option to Allow applications to access your microphone;
- Restart the equipment.
Method 2
Configure sound defaults
- Press the Windows + R keys and type mmsys.cpl;
- On the Recording tab, select the Headphone and Set standard> Apply;
- On the Recording and Playback tab, select the Headphone and click Properties> Advanced> Restore defaults;
- Restart the system and run tests.
Method 3
Troubleshooting audio
- Right-click on the sound icon in the toolbar and select the Solve Sound problems option;
- Wait for problems to be detected and follow the next steps suggested for correction;
- Restart the system.
Method 4
Roll back driver
- On the desktop, press the Windows + X keys and select Device Manager;
- Check the drivers in Sound, video and game controllers and in Audio inputs and outputs, right click on and select Properties> Click Revert driver (if available);
- Restart the computer and check the problem for persistence.
Method 5
Update driver
- On the desktop, press the Windows + X keys and select Device Manager;
- Check the drivers in Sound, video and game controllers and in Audio inputs and outputs, right click on and select Properties> Click Update Driver;
- Click on the option Browse my computer for driver software> Allow me to choose from a list of available drivers on my computer;
- Test with the available options and check for failure.
Method 6
Reinstall device audio driver
- On the desktop, press the Windows + X keys and select Device Manager, check the drivers listed in Sound, video and game controllers and in Audio inputs and outputs, remove the installed driver (right button and click on uninstall);
- Access the download page according to your system's architecture: [32 Bits] or [64 bits], check the I accept to the above box and enter your email address:
- Download the file through the link received and run the downloaded file, the computer must restart once to uninstall the current driver and once to install the updated driver;
- Restart the system and test the microphone.
