Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse not working properly

Hello,

I have a question about my Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse. I've been using both mouse and keyboard for quite some time and I encountered no problems.

Unfortunately, last week the mouse partially stopped working - meaning that it moves but I can click on buttons only within one window (usually the last program opening after startup). Once I close that program, I cannot click anything and the focused window also loses its focus. The only way how can I then control the system is via keyboard (which works well). If I unplug the dongle before startup, I can control the OS normally via touchpad, if I plug it in again, it immediately stops working again.

Because of this problem, I thought I would be a problem of drivers, so I updated them with an app from your site (https://www.microsoft.com/accessories/en-us/d/sculpt-ergonomic-mouse), but nothing happened. I updated Windows to the latest version but nothing happened. Also, I encountered a problem with the "back button" on the mouse (the side button next to the blue Windows one), which I cannot click for some reason. It kind of seems like something inside the button is broken. Is it possible that this could cause the problem?

I really like the mouse and I don't really want to get rid of it but I have no idea how to solve my problem anymore.

    Have the same issue.

Appears after each awakening from sleep.

For me it help to run CTRL+ALT+DEL and then select Task Manager with the mouse. The problem disappears immediately until the next screen lock.

I also have the same issue. I have two pairs of the ergonomic mouse/keyboard set, one works fine and the other set is not. Mouse is not working and I have to press super hard. I had it for less than a year, wonder if there would be a replacement.

Yes - I have exactly the same problem. I have to press really hard to get the mouse buttons to work. I can't use it now. It didn't last very long!

I have the same issue - it just started occurring in the middle of the day today.

It appears as though the extra "back" button beside where my thumb rests is stuck in.

    Please advise.
