I've been having an issue when it comes to trying to update things through the Microsoft Store and using Outlook with my MSN account. This has only been happening since I got my laptop back from having the screen repaired. I've gone through and done everything about resetting the internet, including my router.. but continues to have the same issue. Claims that I do not have an internet connection, but yet.. I am on the internet. Any other advice on how I can correct this issue?? Thanks in advance!!

    Hello how are you?

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

    My name is Luciano L., I am here to help you in the best possible way.

    Before trying something more specific, try the steps below:

    Clean boot.

    Clean boot is used to determine if a background program is interfering with the system.

    1-Press the Windows + R keys, type

    msconfig and click OK;

    2-In the System Configuration window click on the tab

    services;

    3-At the bottom of the screen, check the Hide all Microsoft services box

    and click Disable all;

    4-Now click on the Programs Startup tab

    and click Open task manager;

    5-In the task manager window on the startup tab,

    disable all non-Microsoft programs, close the

    task manager and click ok on

    system configuration and restart your computer if prompted.

    NOTE: This procedure disables all third-party services and programs. You can later, if the problem is solved in this way, selectively enable the programs and services that will start with Windows, instead of keeping everyone disabled. If the problem returns after activating the startup of a specific service or program, the problem is exactly in the startup of this software and it is recommended to remove it.

    Create a new user profile

    We will try to create a new user profile to see if the problem occurs with all Windows users on your computer or just isolated to the current profile you are using.

    1. Open the command prompt with elevated access (administrator access)
    2. Type the command below and press Enter with each next command.

    net user "account name" / add

    (change the "account name" to any name you prefer)

    local net group administrators "account name" / add

    (change the "account name" to the name you put in the first command)

    1. Close the command prompt and switch to the new user.

    Sign out of your old user profile, then sign in to the new user profile and see if the same problem persists.

    I await news.

    We are always available!

    I'm Greg, an Independent Advisor.

    You have a bunch of problems which are most likely related to Account Corruption since the Admin error on an Admin account almost always means Account corruption.

    Test for account corruption by creating a new Admin Local Account in Settings > Accounts > Family & Other People > Other People, sign into it, see if problem persists:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/226540/how-to-create-a...

    http://www.windowscentral.com/how-change-user-a...

    If you're blocked from creating a new account, try enabling the built=in hidden Administrator account used only in emergencies, by one of these methods:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2969-enable... then sign into it leaving the password box blank, to create the new account as above.

    If the problem goes away move your files over, test all programs run correctly or reinstall.

    Then when ready you can delete the old account in the same place as above, and convert the new account to your MS account if desired:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5464-delete...

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5375-switch...

    You can also try repairing the account or install using a fresh set of installation files running a Repair Install as shown here: https://www.yourwindowsguide.com/2016/06/how-to...

    Once you have the account repaired or replaced test for the other problems and report back any remaining ones so I can address them.

    I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. If you will wait to choose if I resolved your problem, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Before contacting your warranty, let's try something.

    In, this error code 0x800704cf usually occurs whenever you try to access the networked PC or when a workgroup is started.

    Run a 'diagnostics' using the Windows wizard - when the error message appears, click on 'Diagnose' and follow the instructions on the screen.

    Also try:

    Change adapter settings

    1- On your Windows 10 system press the Win + I keys on the keyboard to bring up the System Settings window.

    2- From there, you need to click on Network and Internet (Wi-Fi, airplane mode, VPN).

    3- The available network connections will now be displayed on your computer.

    4- Scroll down until you find Change adapter options.

    5- Access this feature.

    6- Network Connections will now be displayed.

    7- Right-click on the current Wi-Fi network connection available on your Windows 10 device; then choose Properties.

    8- Uncheck the first option displayed: 'Microsoft Networks customer form'.

    9- Save your changes and restart your machine.

    I await news.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply, but it only made thing worse as nothing wanted to boot up period this time. I am lost as to why its only effecting my PC, as I can login to Outlook on my phone and then on Xbox Live without any issues what so ever. I have gone through and check everything on my PC from my account settings all the way to my antivirus to ensure nothing may be preventing me from logging in. As I expressed, I did not run into this issue until after getting my PC back from the manufacture for a screen repair under my warranty. Do I need to contact them in regards to this issue, since it appeared after they "diagnosed" my laptop??

    Don't use Workgroup, the error code says that I am not connected to the internet. Its only effecting when I try to access the Microsoft Store or Outlook, otherwise I can log into Windows without any issues. I've ensured that my password is up to date straight across the board, but still get that error code.

    Changing the Networking settings did nothing either. I'd prefer not to contact the manufacture, as they had my laptop for three weeks prior to sending it back, and it was scheduled for 7-10 days. As I expressed, I did not have this issue until getting my laptop back. I have no issue with logging into my Microsoft account on my wife's laptop, so I feel like there is something preventing me from accessing Microsoft apps and I just can not figure it out.
