network connection issues after formatting c:\ and installing windows10

Hello

A few days ago when i tried to turn on my PC (Win7-64bit), it would get stuck at "starting windows". I tried fixing it using windows installation disk's repair feature, but it didn't work.

So I decided to re-install windows instead. I started by formatting the partition where my old windows was installed (drive c:) and then installing windows 10 in that partition. It worked fine.

But when I logged in, I did not see any options whatsoever regarding network connections (no Ethernet or local area network settings, no available networks to join). I used to have no problem with connecting to the internet via Ethernet cable using a modem before.

So I checked the drivers in device manager. I couldn't find many network adapter devices there (not sure if all the adapters needed for internet connection were there).

The exact same issues persisted when i tried uninstalling windows 10 and installing windows 8.1 and then windows 7(the OS that had originally been installed on the PC with no such issues).

I tried looking for a solution online but found nothing. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks in advance

EDIT: display and sound problems are fixed now. Realized it wasnt about the drivers. But the network issue persists.

    Hi federico

Well i think i have updated the drivers (except for the network adapter which im not sure about). I used a software called “driver pack solution” 15 which had most drivers available offline. But apparently didnt have the network adapter drivers.

In device manager under “network adapters” i see 8 entries which are the various types of “WAN Miniport”.

    My pc specs:

Processor: intel celeron g1820 2.7 GHz

    RAM: 4 gb

If i could fix the internet connectivity issue the rest would be easier

I do not recommend that you use any Registry Cleaners, Optimizers, Driver Updaters, Tune -Up utilities, etc.

They may do more harm to your operating system than any good that they claim to be able to do.

After that reinstall > Go to your laptop/computer manufacturer's website and find and reinstall the Windows Drivers for your Laptop/computer Model Number for your operating system.

Use the computer you are on to get here to download/save the Network Adaptors/Wi-fi Drivers for it first > copy them to flash drive > transfer and install them on the Laptop.

Then you can use the Laptop/computer to get the rest of the drivers from there.
