    Hi Silver4Raven

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

Right click the battery icon on your Taskbar, select Power Options

On the left, click 'Choose what the power buttons do'

At the top right, click 'Change settings that are currently unavailable'

Under 'Shutdown settings' disable 'Turn on fast startup'

Save that and close Control Panel

Then, Restart (not shut down) your PC . . .

Hey Dave thanks for your effort.

    I followed your advice.

Shut down works fine now which is an improvement.

    Hibernate still not fully completes.

The keyboard lights, the power button and possibly the fans still working.

    I would appreciate further ideas

Thanks a lot for your time.

    Hi Silver4Raven

Yes, that is the correct setting, I am sorry, I have no further ideas on that Hibernation problem, I have seen this before, there seems to be a conflict with Windows 10 and Hibernation, Microsoft use that technology for the Fast Startup in Windows 10, and that is why Hibernation is turned off in Windows 10 by default, i have a feeling they will be deprecating Hibernation in Windows 10 . . .

Power plan now is set to balanced. Which is the only power plan at the moment.
