Unable to play CD and DVD's on my Acer laptop windows 10

From last few time whenever I insert ant CS or DVD on my laptop it did not recognize it as earlier a notification pop's up whenever I insert it. Even it does not recognize the pen drive. My system's model is Aspire E5-571. Please help as soon as possible.

    Hello, I’m Virginia an independent advisor with 20 years of expertise in fixing my own & friends’ PC problems.

    Which Windows 10 build are you running - 1903, 1909, 2004 or 20H2 (Oct 2020)?

    When you say the disc isn’t recognised do you mean it doesn’t automatically play or that the drive isn’t recognising the disc & it doesn’t show a disc is inserted when viewed under Computer?

    If it is that the disc doesn’t auto play then this is just a simple setting.

    Open Start>Settings>Devices choose auto play defaults for CD/DVD drive & for also for USB.

    Or you can also do this under the old Control Panel>Auto Play.
