Readyboost Tab Missing Entirely

Anonymous

I have an ASUS T100TA transformer book that I recently upgraded to Windows 10 Home edition. The computer only has 64Gb of Storage and 2Gb of Memory which I was hoping to be able to upgrade by allocating a small portion of a Micro SD card to use with Readyboost. Unfortunatley, the readyboost tab is not even an option in drive properties.

The only problem I can think of is that the 64Gb drive is an eMMC SSD, welded onto the motherboard but, I have a very old Sony Vaio VPCEH with a very expensive Serial ATA SSD running Windows 10 Pro. It recognises it as an SSD but the readyboost option is still available and even useable with a flash drive.

Not sure what to do, Please help!

Aiden

    Hi AidenMitch3

I do understand tour skepticism, I really do, below is the page that link is provided on, that page is written and administered by trusted MVP (Microsoft Valuable Professional) Shawn Brink who is also a trusted Moderator on this forum

    Thank you for responding.

Your answer seems legit, but I am still a bit skeptical when I see the message "Not from a Microsoft website". Every scam "appears" to be honest... until is isn't. I clicked the like and was prompted with a security message blatantly stating "hackers might be trying to steal your information" and that tenforums.com was insecure with invalid Certification.

Again, thanks for the reply and that site could be totally safe but I do not want to take any unnecessary risks. Is there any setting or other option I have? the feature should come with windows 10 home with no sketchy downloads at all, as it worked on every other computer I have ever seen running windows except mine :(

    Hi Aiden

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

Because you have an SSD, ReadyBoost will do nothing to improve the performance of your laptop, because SSD drive access is so much faster than USB drive access, and it would be best to use the page file on the SSD rather than using the SD Card for ReadyBoost, and just use the SD Card for storage on your laptop . . .

Remove that SD Card from your laptop, click the link below to download a reg file

    https://www.tenforums.com/attachments/tutorials...

Right click that reg file and choose 'Merge' then confirm the merge

Restart your laptop, then insert the SD card and check if you now have the ReadyBoost Tab . . .
