The scam is still out there!

I received the same email to my Earthlink webmail and now they're charging $399.99 for a Windows Defender protection plan.  The latest toll free number is 800.484.0972.

I'm going to report this company to BBB, for sure:  RNBSales -- rmxretail.com

Yes, that's definitely a phishing email, a scam.

Just mark it as spam and delete it.

I got an email about this too - making it look like was charged.  I called the the number knowing it was a SCAM - needless to say the guy was mad and hung up on me for calling him out.

    1. he said I had free coverage up until now, it had changed to a charged service
    2. If I wanted to cancel the service, he had to have access to my computer to delete the files that were "saved with the new      charged service"  - this was comical

    3.  he said I previously had coverage on all my computers and needed each one to access

(even more comical - since I only have 1 and he said all 3)

Called him out on it and he got mad and hung up - BEWARE, they are good with their attempts to explain "why" they need to remote log it.
