Windows update causes sound to have no bass

After the latest windows update 20H2, my computers audio drivers have broken and have no bass when played through headphones. I haven't had the ability to try through speakers so I'm not sure whether they have the same issue. this happened a while ago when the update first released, but after restoring my windows version it seemed to have fixed itself. Today, windows forced the update on me and the issue has returned. I've already tried updating my drivers and uninstalling them and reinstalling them from the manufacturers website.

The audio drivers I use are Realtek high definition audio drivers.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi LookeKoz -

I'm Jerico T., one of the Independent Advisor and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I understand that you're having some issues right now, let us sort things out.

Please try to perform a rollback of your driver and check if it will work.

Method 1: Roll-back driver Audio inputs and outputs

    1. Open run box by pressing Windows Key + R and type devmgmt.msc then hit enter
    2. Locate and expand Audio inputs and outputs
    3. Right-click on the driver and select Update driver
    4. Select Browse my computer for drivers
    5. Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
    6. Select any older driver from the list and click next
    7. Wait for the process to complete, once completed, restart your computer and check if it resolves your issue.

Method 2: Roll-back driver Sound, video and game controllers

    1. Open run box by pressing Windows Key + R and type devmgmt.msc then hit enter
    2. Locate and expand Sound, video and game controllers

If the methods above did not work, please don't hesitate to reach back.

Hope this help. Have a good day.

    Thank you.

    Jerico T.
