DirectX 12 Miracast available, no HDCP...how do I get HDCP?

My hardware is HDCP enabled and shows HDCP enabled on my 2 monitors. I have no issues playing HD videos on my machine/monitors. I want to Miracast to my new TV but it won't accept the connection. I can cast to it with Chrome and my media player and I can access/play videos via accessing the HD across the WiFi connection.

What I want to know is how I go about fixing the DHCP problem in DirectX. Anyone have any ideas?

The video card is an NVidia GeForce GTX550ti 2GB GDDR5 with the latest drivers installed. Everything is running off the same 2.4 GHz WiFi network, etc. I also suspect the TV has issues but it has the latest software installed as well.

    Okay,

so let me get this straight. I should ignore what the folks at NVidia have told me and try reinstalling their drivers, which they've told me no longer support HDCP over wireless (in other words they don't support Miracast), yet again?

I've discussed this with the folks at NVidia and they've made it clear that I may or may not be able to purchase a new video card that has drivers that would support HDCP over wireless...currently. However, they were quite clear that I certainly couldn't count on future drivers having that support. The drivers for my current card DO NOT support HDCP over wireless and they won't be receiving that in any future updates.

I thought maybe AMD would have an option I could afford but was surprised to find out that they removed Miracast support from ALL of their drivers quite a while ago.

Basically, I'm telling you that I've already done what you're telling me to do. That's what prompted me to contact NVidia. My discussion with the technician at NVidia was what prompted me to contact AMD.

I can't afford to purchase a new video card that supports Miracast, given the current market/climate, nor would I want to invest that kind of money into this machine (AMD FX8350 w/32GB RAM). Honestly, given the exorbitant price of chips in general, I wouldn't want to do anything new.

    Thanks though,

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are unable to project your PC screen to TV. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.

    However, please let us know:

    1. What exactly happens when you try to project the screen?
    2. Do you receive any error message/code?
    3. Is this the first time you are trying to project the screen?
    4. Are you aware of any changes made to the computer prior to this issue?
    5. Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? Refer Which version of Windows operating system am I running?

I would suggest you to try re-installing the graphics drivers and see if that helps. I would suggest you to try performing a clean installation of NVidia drivers and check if that resolves the issue.

    Refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press Windows key + R. This will open Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for ‘Run
    2. In Run dialog box, type ‘devmgmt.msc’ and hit Enter.
    3. Expand Display adapters.
    4. Right click on the NVidia driver and click on Uninstall.
    5. Now check the box Delete the driver software for this device.
    6. Click on Uninstall
    7. Do not restart the PC

Download the latest drivers for the graphics card from NVidia website, once you download the drivers perform a clean install of drivers by following the steps mentioned below

    1. Navigate to the location where the driver is downloaded (Usually it should be in the Downloads folder).
    2. Double-click on the driver to run it.
    3. Click on OK to start extracting the driver packages.
    4. Accept the License agreement and proceed further.
    5. Under Install options select Custom (Advanced) and click on Next
    6. Check the box next to Perform clean install and click on Next
    7. Follow the onscreen instructions

You can also try installing all the pending Windows Updates on your computer. To do this, go to Start >> Settings >> Update & Security >> Windows Update >> Check for updates.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,
