I also tried manually repairing the C drive in file explorer, but when it boots up its like nothing got repaired because it only took a second. After, when I check file explorer and security and maintenance it is still there the error notice hw do I fix this because if my files disappear then it would be bad.

Hi to anyone this might come in handy I found the solution all you need to do is go to setting then the updates and security, go to recovery choose the restart now (labeled at advanced start up NOT reset this pc). when you get there go to advanced options and you should see start up repair after the process it should be good.

You are amazing. Thank you so much. I tried (what seemed) every trick in the book. This issue has plagued me for months and months and I just saw your post. This took care of it immediately and (for others to know) did not delete or change any files!

Thank you so incredibly much for coming back to update everyone!

    Hi Edgardo,

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this.

    1

Open File Explorer and navigate to 'This PC'

Right click your C drive and choose Properties.

Select the Tools Tab and in the Error Checking section, click Check

Complete that process and restart your PC

    2

If that does not fix the problem.

Click the Power button on your Start Menu.

Press the Shift Key and click Restart

Your PC will boot into the Windows Recovery Environment

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Command Prompt

Run this command and press Enter.

    chkdsk C: /f /r

Wait for that command to complete, then restart your PC.
