Auto capitalisation of some words

Hello. I've had this problem now for some time. Some of the words I type will be auto-capitalized eventhough I wouldn't want them to be and I cannot turn this "feature" off. The newest addition to this problem is that today when I've typed the word "your" in the email app all of the letters in that word automaticly gets capitalized. Why is this and how can I turn this setting off? I don't need any auto-capitalization in my work so I'd be happy if windows never capitalize any of my texts.

Hi Joel, my name is Neil, I'm an independent adviser and a Windows 10 user like you.

I'm sorry you're having some words 'auto-corrected' and auto-capitalised in Windows.

To stop Windows from doing this, please follow the instructions below:

On your keyboard, press the Windows Key + i to open Settings.

    Click on Devices.

Click on "Typing" on the left hand side menu.

Here you can see what Windows is doing when you type. You will want to turn OFF "Autocorrect misspelt words".

Also lower down under Hardware Keyboard, turn OFF "Autocorrect misspelt words I type".

That will stop Windows from interfering with your typing. However, each app may have it's own Spell Checking and Auto correction running. So you will need to look into the menu of whatever app you're using and deselect any auto correct and auto capitalisation that may be selected.

    I hope this helps.

    Kindest regards,

    Neil

I looked as well Joel before replying and I couldn't find any settings either.

The only settings in the Mail app when composing a new email are for proofing and hiding the proofing marks. See the picture below.

So you can hide marked words that it thinks are misspelt, and it won't correct misspelt words either, but I've been through every setting and I cannot find anywhere else auto-capitalisation is set either. Auto capitalisation only happens after a full stop and the next word is not capitalised or after a line break.

If you look on the internet too, you'll find lots of people with fixes, but these are for everything we have already tried.

Apparently, the Mail app is an anomaly in itself.

I don't know what else to suggest as I cannot find anything else anywhere to stop this happening.

    Kindest regards,

    Neil

    Hi Neil,

thanks for your help but this didn't solve my problem. I checked the settings you said but those were already off so it didn't change anything.

I'm talkin about the Microsoft email "app" that I use in my work. Can't really locate any settings in it that would be about typing or autocorrecting my typing.

    Br,

    Joel
