I'm currently with 2 separate PC's WINVER 21H1 BUILD 19043.1023 and both PC's are missing the "compact mode" option, any assistance in the matter will be most appreciated.

Work had us upgrade or Windows 10 to OS build 19042.985.
I want my Icons in a folder to be "closer" to each other (I use medium icons). Before, I could go to View -> Options -> Change Folder & Search options -> View tab, and put a check next to "use compact mode". This "use compact mode" option is missing.
I also brought up RegEdit, and wen to "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced", and looked for a DWORD key of UseCompactMode, saw it was missing, added it, with a value of 1, but this did nothing (did reboots in between). Set it to 0, reboot, back to 1, reboot, no change.
How can I get this "use compact mode" back, or is there another way to move these icons closer to each other? (and I'm not talking about RegEdit "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics" keys IconSpacing and IconVerticalSpacing, which ony deal with the desktop)

It should be available. Also, update to Build 21387 and check. If it is still missing, file feedback.

I'm sorry to say the the "Use Compact Mode" feature is only available starting with Windows 10 build 21337 and later. It is not available in your current Windows version 19042.985.
