Games Laggy After Reinstalling OS

I recently had to reset my pc (meaning reinstalling windows 10 again), and I noticed that whenever I play redownloaded games like League of Legends, the performances of such games are laggy with major fps loss. I used to be getting 60 fps at even the highest of settings, now am only getting a measly 16 fps. I have checked geforce and found that my graphics drivers are up to date, yet still have drastic fps and performance loss. Can anyone help? Thanks

I appreciate the feedback, but I don't think it is the background processes. League is not a very demanding game, yet I struggle to get even the minimum that's actually playable. I haven't downloaded anything besides chrome, and a couple of other games from steam, so I know that it's not some secret malware or a cluster of programs eating this.

My name is Jan, I’m an Independent Advisor. I'll be happy to help you. If you already check task manager and there is no background program interfering with your game. Most likely the graphics driver is causing the FPS drops. Try to clean install the graphics drivers. Also check and update other drivers' audio, chipsets Bios. Try each below.

    1. Download the latest graphics driver from the Manufacturer's support site and install it.

    Select "perform clean installation"

    Once installed

    restart your computer.

    1. Clean install the graphics driver using DDU.

    Display Driver Uninstaller

Run the application from Safe mode.

    Select Clean and restart

    Once the drivers are uninstalled

Install the latest Graphics Card driver

    Hi!

I am Anna, your independent advisor for today. I will be more than glad to assist you.

Usually, the cause of this is just processes that are running on the background.

You may want to check the background processes that might be slowing things down. Open the Task Manager by pressing the CTRL+SHIFT+ESC keys. Once the window opens, click on CPU and Memory tabs and check for any process that might be eating up large space of CPU or RAM.

Hope this helps fix the issue. If you need further help please let the community posted.

    Thanks,
    Anna M
