I'm using the ASUS Notebook, both of my Shift keys are not working properly as they used to a couple weeks back. My right shift cannot press Z in capital or making ? symbol. My left shift key cannot press ] symbol. Other keys are fine.

What should I do? I have all the driver and Windows updates are up-to-date. Thank you for reading!

Edit: they still work if I press the combination fast enough, it just doesn't work if i hold the shift keys and try to press those keys

hi, thank you for answering me Carlo. I have tried al the steps above, apart from the system restore, none of them work. Do you have any other advice, I want to try all before conducting the system restore as the last resort.

    Good Day Bcffhbgghjjk,

I appreciate your time getting back to this this thread, did you spill anything from the keyboard, can you please try to use an external keyboard and check.

If the external keyboard does the same means it is a software issue.

If the external keyboard works it means that this is a hardware issue reach out to a physical stores near you for them to check the keyboard hardware.

For the meantime , try to perform System Restore.

This process will take your computer settings back to an earlier point in time where computer is working fine. If there's any changes made on your computer that removes the service, system restore should be able to fix the issue for you. To perform system restore please follow the steps below:

    1. Press Windows key + R and type rstrui.exe and hit enter
    2. Once system restore windows open, normally it will suggest a restore point
    3. Select your desired restore point date and time and hit next and finish. Choose a restore point date before the issue occurred

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Carlo T.
