BIOS UPDATE

Can you explain to me why Windows is still forcing a BIOS update? Just got my computer back up after a good 2 hours of booting blue screen booting blue screen . Why? Because on the last update Windows decided to update my BIOS without any input from me the owner of the PC.

The last time this happened the Windows associate agreed with me on how stupid it is to force a BIOS update.  What if someone does not know what this is and holds the power button down, or their battery is out, or they close the lid?  Personal i use software that works with one BIOS and bricks on the new one. So every time this happens I have to go through the trouble of getting to another PC download the old BIOS boot in and reflash.

Just waiting on one of the blue screens to actually damage something so I have to spend hours reinstalling everything.

I was always taught given how bad it can go to never update the BIOS unless 1. there is a problem with the BIOS you are on.  2. there is a feature that you would like or need in the new BIOS that you are willing to chance **** going sideways to install a new BIOS. I know some of you are like BIOS flash is not big deal , but in my situation it is!!! Regardless the "feature" should default to off and with a tone of warning be toggled on if you simply must include this BS in your software.

So Why Microsoft and Comunity are Windows still forcing a potential bricking of someone's PC?

Again I brought this up before when I was in the windows insider program and it seemed like people agreed with me. The Microsoft employee said she would send my concerns up the food chain.  How many PC do you think you have bricked?

I am not a wealthy man, but the minute you cost me any loss of data or a long downtime I will be contacting an attorney.

Maybe I can crowdfund the attorney fees, or maybe I just go broke, but this **** has got to stop. It's my PC you can claim you still own the software I use and can force me to update it, but I bought this laptop and the ASUS BIOS does not say Microsoft anywhere I can see. It's mine I can choose to update or not stay the F*** out of my BIOS!!!!!!!

Well after several months of every time I shut my PC down having to reflash my BIOS I got in a heated argument with ASUS support. They fully laid the blam on windows and said I should simply uninstall the windows updates that caused the issue. No regards to if I need windows updated for work. I pointed out that Windows could not offer the BIOS without ASUS consent and they told me still it was just a windows problem even though the firmware downloaded said ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. He said how do you know ASUS sent Windows the software. I said clearly if they have it and you didn't send it they stole it and you should sue the **** out of the silence. He wanted me to prove that certain manufacturers worked with windows to offer the BIOS.

At the end of the day, this is still an issue every time I shut off this PC that I love other than the fact it tries to slowly commit suicide every time I shut it off. Love the hardware. Hate that both Windows and Asus would like nothing more than me to have a 1,500 dollar paperweight.

If I was somebody it would matter. If you guys would post this BS and make it known MS and ASUS ownes the hardware you spent money for and can choose to throw the dice doing fu** BIOS updates at will you can not stop it would matter.

I'm just a guy on a forum the most of the Windows and ASUS **** B*ys will never see posting about how I just want my PC to run the way I bought it, but that doesn't matter to the **** hats that know more than I do about what I want.

YOU ******G Blue screen my PC daily I just want a way to stop the BIOS UPDATES. It's not hard just give me a box,,,, do you want BIOS **** KNOW I DO NOT WANT YOU TO BRICK MY PC!!!!!!

in 2021 some venders are working with Microsoft to include bios updates with windows updates, HP for example.

Can you explain to me why Windows is still forcing a BIOS update?

It isn't. The BIOS is motherboard firmware. BIOS updates come from the manufacturer of your computer, if you bought the computer, or the manufacturer of your motherboard, if you built your computer.
