Laptop hangs up during NVIDIA GeForce Experience update.

Hi,

Yesterday my laptop froze during the NVIDIA GeForce Experience update. It's a brand new HP laptop and I had no idea what to do. After almost 30 minutes of freezing, I reluctantly turned off my laptop by pressing the power button for a few seconds. When I turned it back on, it took a few minutes extra to fully turn on. From there on it was as usual. But still, I'm scared about anything wrong with my laptop due to the force shut-down. How can I make sure that my laptop's health is good?

Thanks and Regards,

Arjun

    Good Day Arjun,

My name is Carlo, I'm an Independent Advisor and community member like you.

I am also using Windows 10 pc. Let us work together to sort this out.

Let's try to scan your device to fix any corrupted system files.

-Click Start, type CMD and run as administrator.

-Copy and paste each of the commands below and hit enter.

    Sfc /scannow

Wait until the pc finishes scanning and repairing any corrupted system files then proceed with the next command

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Once done restart your pc using Cleanboot.

    1. Open the run box by pressing the Windows Key + R and type msconfig
    2. System Configuration Utility box will open and by default you are on general tab.
    3. On the General tab, click the selective startup and make sure that load system service and load startup items both have checked mark.
    4. Click on services tab
    5. Put a check mark on Hide All Microsoft Services
    6. Once Hide all Microsoft Services have checked mark on it, click on Disable All
    7. Click on the Startup Tab and click open task manager. This will open another window which contains all your startup applications on the administrator account.
    8. Disable all application that you're not using. You can simply just click on them and select disable.
    9. Click OK, Apply and close the configuration utility
    10. Restart your pc and observe the performance.

I hope the information above helps. Please let me know if you will still experience freezing in your computer.

    .

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Carlo T.

    Hi

Can you just mention the specs of your PC?

Also, try re-installing GeForce Experience to fix it.

    Re-install the NVIDIA driver manually.

    For the boot issue,

Run a DISM and SFC Check

Let me know once you tried all of this.

    Regards,

    Aditya Khullar
