The drivers for the xbox controller are automatically installed when you connect it to your computer via a cable. Try to connect the control that the drivers will appear.
If you still can't connect, try the steps below:
Step 1
Uninstall the USB driver in Device Manager:
- Press the Windows + X keys simultaneously;
- Click on the Device Manager option;
- Click the arrow that points to USB Controllers;
- Right-click on the installed device and click uninstall;
- Restart the computer.
Tip: Also remove everything related to Universal Bus and Composite device.
Step 2
Install the generic driver:
- Press the Windows + X keys simultaneously;
- Click on the Device Manager option;
- Click the arrow that points to USB Controllers;
- Right-click on the installed device and click Properties;
- Click on the Driver tab> Update Driver> Search Computer for Driver Software;
- Click Allow me to choose from a list of device drivers on the Computer;
Select driver versions, install one by one.
Tip: After completing the installation of each driver, restart the system and test it.
Step 3
Update Xbox One control.
This step can be done on another computer, if necessary.
Get the Microsoft Windows 10 app by searching for "Xbox Accessories".
Launch the Xbox Accessories app.
Connect the Xbox One Wireless Controller using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.
When the controller is connected, you will see the message "Update required" if there is a mandatory update. Install the update.
