Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand the inconvenience caused to you with the upgrading procedure to Windows 10 Pro. There are authentic third party vendor who sell legitimate copy of Windows 10 and there are also some third party vendors who sell pirated/non-legitimate copy of Windows 10. As you have already checked the license copy with Microsoft support team, then in that case we would like to know few things.

    • Are you getting any error code/message while upgrading to Windows 10 Pro?
    • Are you able to fix the issue when you spoke to Microsoft?

If you still have the issue, then we would like you to perform these steps and let us know the status.

    Using default key

    1. Press Windows + I key to open Settings.
    2. Click on Update & Security and select Activation from the left pane.
    3. Click on Change Product key and enter this default key: VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T
    4. Follow the onscreen steps.
    5. Once the PC upgrades to Windows 10 Pro, then again perform step 1, 2 & 3
    6. Now enter the new product key that you have purchased.

So you're basically telling MicroCenter, a major store brand around the county, that sells computer parts, etc. They are sending people to fake sites? LOL!

    ...okay.

    Try again...

I already spoke with Microsoft this morning. The Windows 10 Pro key is legitimate, and so is that site. (i already know this, and so do they) that is not the issue here!

..obviously you don't understand the problem..and some of you will create problems, (just so you can reply, or feel intelligent) to where there is no problem in the first place. I didn't ask, "I bought a key, here...is it any good?"

SoftwareLicense4U is not a legitimate reseller of Windows licenses. The easy tipoff is that the price is too low. Microsoft does not allow discounts on the price of Windows. In addition, Microsoft does not permit the sale of license keys to consumers separate from a copy of the software. Fortunately, you're only out 30-odd bucks.

Now go to Microsoft's website and buy a legitimate copy of Windows.

I've been on the phone all day with Microsoft, getting nowhere.

    I purchased a key from

    SoftwareLicense4u ******@softwarelicense4u.com
Which MicroCenter Computer store said I should purchase.

It's a Windows 10 Pro key.

I installed Windows 10 Pro on a computer , with a new hard drive. (to test the drivers, and motherboard settings for someone).

I then formatted that drive. Took it back out. Booted up the original drive, (same motherboard) now trying to upgrade his Windows 10 home, to Pro with this same new key.

Says can't use key now!?? Why, it's the same motherboard?
