Windows 10 freezes when using Google Maps in Chrome.

When I go to maps.google.com in Chrome the PC freezes up. I then have to long press the power button and restart the PC.

This error is reproducible for me and happens every time I try to use Google Maps. It happens mostly when you turn your map to satellite view.

Has this problem for 1 year now and finally found a fix! Go to chrome://flags/ and search for ANGLE and select OpenGL. No more crashes!

This issue has also been happening to me, which I am using a Windows 10, Google Chrome and Google Map satellite view. The crazy thing is the entire computer freezes. No CTRL+ALT+DELETE will work. It freezes every app and you have to long press Power. I usually have Outlook, Teams, an excel or word docs open, and sometimes they won't even back-up save so all my work is lost...

I have a user in our environment experiencing the exact same behavior.  I had their PC on my workbench for updates on 3/10/2021 and ran multiple Windows Updates at that time.  The problem persists.  Windows 10, Google Chrome for browser.  The user can only successfully use Google Maps in satellite view if no programs other than Teams and Outlook are running.  If any other programs are running, the system locks up and a forced shutdown is the only way to get out of the lockup.

I've had the same problem in Windows 10 for the past couple of months.  It not only happens in satellite view in Chrome, but also when using Google Maps in Edge and even Google Earth.  It's now also happening even if I stay in map view (not satellite), after panning around the map.  It's a complete computer freeze that requires the power cycle with a long pressing of my power button.  I'm using about an 18-month old Dell XPS15.
