Is 'DriverUpdate' a legitimate program? I keep getting an ad from them stating there is a new version available.  Is this required to utilize MS Windows 10?

I would not touch it with a barge pole. If drivers need updating then this happens through the automatic updates. I recommend you uninstall this program.

    Hello Smsgt1933,

I'm John an Independent Advisor and a Windows user like you. I'll be happy to assist you today.

I personally do not recommend using a third-party driver update utility because it often installs incorrect drivers and usually makes your system unstable and does not work. I strongly recommend downloading and installing your device drivers from the manufacturer's support page or through Windows Update.

I recommend to uninstall the driver update utility.

Press Start then search "Apps and Features"

Find Slimware Driver Update in the list and click it

    Select Uninstall

Please refer on the link below on how to uninstall it.

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

    Kind regards,
