Trying to update Windows on my Gateway PC.

Hi,

I am trying to update windows 8.1 with a January 2021 Security Update.

The Update Download results in an invitation to install Windows 10.   At that point I uninstall the update.

I don't want windows 10 as I tried it long ago and had some issues.

My computer works fine otherwise since Dec 2013.  Runs fast, does what I need.  Just trying to keep it as secure as possible.

2021-01 Security Update for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB4535680) is what I am trying to update on

my Gateway PC.

Processor Intel i3-3240 CPU@3.4GHz

Installed RAM 5.0 GB (5.87 usable)

System 64 bit OS and x64-based processor

Updates since January 2021 remain uninstalled.  Haven't tried any since above update seems to push Windows 10.

How can I improve my security with latest update while avoiding Windows 10.

    A lot of people have just decided to not install it, due to all the problems with it.
