Where is SyncToy?

I'm trying to download SyncToy, but the download page (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=15155) gives me a 404 error ("We're sorry, this download is no longer available") and the search bar doesn't give me any hints as to where it might have gone. Is SyncToy no longer available?

    Hi J-S-1,

Good day! This is Jhakesong an Independent Advisor and I will be happy to assist you with this.

It appears Synctoy 2.1 official download was discontinued in January 2021.

Let me know how it goes. Have a great day!

    This is a great disappointment.

SyncToy was singularly useful utility for Windows.  It was Windows' version of the Linux rsync, and much needed.

I guess leave it to Microsoft to make poor product decisions?

    'Come on Man!'

If not an easily installable version pulling in the needed older component of .NET, how about at least a path of steps to take to install it on a current Windows 10 system?

How about a re-packaging of SyncToy that installs all the needed components?

Alternative to that, you can install the .NET 3.5 support (includes 3.0 and 2.0) , not from the Control Panel -> Programs -> Windows Options and Features -> .NET 3.5

but using this command line advice:

And replaced with? or suggested alternative?

For all those who are still looking for SyncToy, they can use this link below to download it from Internet Archive.
I went little different route to find an old version, Sep 2019, but it still works well.

    http://web.archive.org/web/20190910181605/http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=15155 Enjoy the tool :) !!!

DeepayanC, that was a really good idea.

One point: the installer that is downloaded from that link is for the x86 (i.e. 32-bit) version of SyncToy 2.1.

Even though that x86 (i.e. 32-bit) version of SyncToy 2.1 does run on 64-bit systems, some users might prefer the x64 (i.e. 64-bit) version of SyncToy 2.1 (which does not run on 32-bit systems!).

Funnily enough the download from http://web.archive.org/web/20190910180921/http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=15155 doesn't seem to work for downloading the 64-bit version: although you can navigate through the big red "Download" button to supposedly be able to choose to download either the x86 or the x64 version (or both), it didn't work for me — no matter what I chose, it always downloaded the 32-bit version.

Eventually I discovered a 'manual' download option for the x64 version through

    http://web.archive.org/web/20190910181605/https://download.microsoft.com/download/6/c/4/6c406239-a648-4e01-833e-2c452deed3b6/SyncToySetupPackage_v21_x64.exe

I had this same file downloaded (directly from Microsoft's website???) on 2020-09-01, and the file from the last link (above) is identical to it.

    Name: SyncToy_2-1-x64_SetupPackage.exe

P.S. Some potential issues installing on Windows 10 are also discussed (and resolved) on another MS forum:

P.P.S. In case anyone wants a 'manual' download option for the x86 version, go to http://web.archive.org/web/20190910181605/https://download.microsoft.com/download/6/c/4/6c406239-a648-4e01-833e-2c452deed3b6/SyncToySetupPackage_v21_x86.exe
