Drivers, drivers, drivers.... Problems, problems, problems... I bought this Microsoft LifeCam Webcam, model VX-1000, somewhere around 2007., for about 45 euro. Its a nice looking device with a functional design. However, problems with the drivers are never ending story with this webcam; Window 7, 8, 8.1 and I suppose it will never end with Windows 10, since Windows 11 is scheduled before the end of this year. Hey lads out there, Microsoft software (Windows 10) should be compatible with Microsoft hardware (Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 Webcam). Drivers for this webcam (Hardware ID: USB\VID_045E&PID_00F7&MI_00), are not included with Windows 10, and to get the driver form Catalog Update website, page: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=Vx-1000 is not so easy task as it should be. Windows 10 is not even listed as supported! But one of the drivers from the page works fine in Windows 10 (64-bit). So I had to download all of them, un-CAB them and bla-bla-bla... That solution is a couple of light years from "plug and play" definition. So, I have solved the driver problem, but I would like to use the original software as well? Microsoft Windows 10 webcam application is not recognising the Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 Webcam device with a driver installed. Skype and other applications are operational. Even the Russian Astra Linux OS come with preinstalled drivers for Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 Webcam. Would you please keep an eye for this issue with Windows 11 version? Kind regards and thank you!
