[PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume2\Windows\System32\MoUsoCoreWorker.exe

USO Worker has been returning to powercfg -requests daily, requiring a run of "windows update" that may or may not find any available updates to install.  There often is a security update that presents in the evening that may or may not satisfy MoUsoCoreWorker. exe and it drops off.  Value Windows 10 Pro, Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042.

Is there a fix for this that is not already posted?

    Hi Robert,

    I'm David, an Independent Advisor, here to help you.

    I suggest you run the Windows Update and Power troubleshooting.

    1. Open Start and select "Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters";
    2. Run the "Windows Update" and "Power" troubleshooting.

    Check if Windows Update will have any updates to install and let it install.

    Restart the PC.

    If it persists, disable "Allow wake timers":

    Hi Robert.

    Did disabling "Allow wake timers" solve the problem?

    Disabling "Allow wake timers" appeared to work but it did not last. After about 20 minutes on the system I ran powercfg.. and \Device\HarddiskVolume2\Windows\System32\MoUsoCoreWorker.exe was back.  Went through all of the previous recommended steps with no resolution.  Windows Update found nothing to install, and wake up timers remain disabled.  Restarted the system; MoUsoCore was gone and [DRIVER] Legacy Kernel Caller Power Manager returned.  Immediately ran powercfg… MoUsoCoreWorker.exe is back and Legacy Kernel is gone.  After five cycles of checking powercfg, two including restarts and an additional Definition Update, Legacy Kernel and MoUsoCoreWorker alternated on and off or both on.  Tried Windows Update Troubleshooter which found and fixed an issue, Legacy Kernal Caller not active.Ran Windows Update, it is Up To Date…MoUsoCoreWorker.exe persists.

    Followed the recommended steps, there was one security update which installed successfully, then ran the power troubleshooter, no issues found.  I restarted the system checked powercfg -request which included  "driver legacy kernel caller power manager 10" then ran the power troubleshooter again, no issues found.   I repeated powercfg -request, [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume2\Windows\System32\MoUsoCoreWorker.exe  has returned.  The tutorial link is new to me, I will give that a shot and advise results .  Thanks
